YouTube's biggest name Jimmy "MrBeast" appears to be under the cosh once again after he was called out for seemingly fabricating one of his recent videos titled "I Survived 7 Days In An Abandoned City." The video was originally uploaded to YouTube on March 2, 2024, and subsequently re-uploaded on April 19, 2024 on X.com.
A verified user (@pitdesi) took to his X.com account to share his opinion on the video. According to the research he had done, the "abandoned city" that Jimmy claimed in his video isn't actually that deserted in reality. The user remarked:
The user pointed out that the area in question is bustling with bars, hotels, and regular visitors, contrary to Jimmy's portrayal of it as abandoned. There are allegations that Jimmy paid individuals to maintain the appearance of emptiness:
Despite MrBeast's widespread popularity and millions of fans worldwide, he hasn't been immune to occasional criticism. The X user who initially raised doubts about the authenticity of the YouTube video followed up with a video of his own, using recordings from Google Street View.
This footage revealed a lot of visitors in the area, contradicting the deserted depiction presented in MrBeast's video. Watch what he has to say here:
In one of the comments on the original video posted by Jimmy, a member of the X community referenced a Croatian news website (dubrovackidnevnik) that reported crew members falling ill during the filming process.
This suggests that the claimed duration of seven consecutive days in the video may not have been entirely accurate:
Recently, another MrBeast video, titled "Ages 1-100 Decide Who Wins $250,000," garnered attention due to the controversial behavior of one of the contestants featured in the video.
