James McClean mocked Wrexham team-mate Paul Mullin for an acrobatic interception attempt against Sutton United in a League Two encounter.
WHAT HAPPENED? The striker was in the thick of the action during Wrexham's 2-1 victory over Sutton United on Tuesday evening. Mullin was handed the armband by coach Phil Parkinson and the skipper indeed led by example. He gave Wrexham the lead in the 14th minutewith a screamer and even helped out his team-mates by dropping deep on numerous occasions. In one instance, he was spotted throwing his body into the line of the ball, which led McClean to write «f*cking love the dedication lad» on his Instagram story. It was later reposted by Mullin with two laughing emojis from his account.
THE BIGGER PICTURE: Wrexham grabbed another last-gasp victory, courtesy of an 89th-minute strike from Elliot Lee, which fired them to the third spot in the league table. They are currently on a seven-match unbeaten run across all competitions and Mullin has played a crucial role with four goals and an assist in his nine appearances so far this campaign.
WHAT NEXT? Wrexham will hope to extend their unbeaten streak when they lock horns against familiar rivals Notts County on Saturday in another league fixture.
