Fabinho provides ominous Liverpool FC vs Manchester United verdict amid 'historical loss' claim
Former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho believes Manchester United will be in damage limitation mode when they go to Anfield on Sunday after last season's 7-0 drubbing.
United suffered the joint-heaviest defeat in their history in this fixture last season, imploding and conceding six second-half goals against a rampant Liverpool. Erik ten Hag's side go into this weekend's trip in worse form, having lost three of their last four matches across all competitions.
Ten Hag has a number of fitness issues to contend with, including the absence of Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes through injury and suspension respectively. As such, a trip to the league leaders and fierce rivals Liverpool is a daunting task and Fabinho isn't expecting much from the visitors.

"It's hard to review this performance [from last season]," Fabinho told Sky Sports after his Al-Ittihad side were knocked out of the Club World Cup by Egypt's Al Ahly. "It was a historical result and historical results don't happen every season. But I think the way they [Liverpool] are playing now they have everything to win this game.
"Maybe Man United will try to be more defensive to try and avoid a result like they got the last time but I think Liverpool will win the game and I hope they will play their best. Yes, I will be watching the game."
Liverpool also have fitness issues, with the likes of Joel Matip, Diogo Jota and Alexis Mac Allister all absent. Jurgen Klopp's side lost at Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday but the German was able to rotate massively, having already secured top-spot.
