Liverpool remain locked in talks with Al-Ittihad over the proposed £40million transfer of Fabinho.
The Reds received an offer late on Friday from the Saudi Pro League champions for the Brazil international midfielder, who has spent the last five years at Anfield.
Fabinho and Liverpool then agreed the player should be subsequently withdrawn from the squad that flew to Germany the following day for their pre-season training camp.
Al-Ittihad are one of four Saudi Pro League clubs to have last month been taken over by the country's Public Investment Fund, the majority shareholders of League Cup runners-up Newcastle United. They are managed by former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai surprising clue spotted in Liverpool training
Liverpool had no plans to sell Fabinho this summer with the Brazilian having three years remaining on his current deal and expected to be part of a midfield that has already seen significant change with the arrivals of £95m duo Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai following the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.
However, Jurgen Klopp has permitted discussions to take place, with the Reds poised to recoup much of their eventual £43.7m fee they spent on taking the 29-year-old from Monaco in the summer of 2018.
Liverpool and Al-Ittihad continue to discuss the terms of the prospective deal, with the Reds eager for a swift conclusion as they look to press ahead with identifying a replacement with less than a month to go until the start of the Premier League season.
