Fans have questioned Pep Guardiola's tactics with Josko Gvardiol at Manchester City after he played him at left-back once again.
The 21-year-old made his 12th Premier League start of the season on Saturday in their dramatic 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
Gvardiol is seen as one of world football's best young centre-backs and attracted interest from Chelsea before his summer move to City.
However, he has played at left-back on various occasions this season as Guardiola attempts to rejig his tactics.
Fans have been left confused by his decision though and do not feel that the City boss is getting the best out of his prospect.
Taking on X, one said: «Guardiola is holding him back with his tactics, like the way he did for Kalvin Philips City need to sack Pep, to get the best out of Gvardiol.»
Another added: «No can tell me that Gvardiol [who is a centre-back] is a better left-back than Zinchenko or Cancelo or that Akanji, Stones or Lewis [who are defenders] are better midfielders than Gundogan. If Guardiola has a fault, this is it, too clever by half, over-complicates things.»
A third said: «How can you be playing a centre back as a left back? Ake is better as a left back, take him there and bring back that boy to centre back..»
«Pep is clueless for playing him out of position,» added a fourth as City dropped points yet again despite taking the lead.
Goals from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis gave them the lead before Jean-Philippe Mateta reduced the deficit in the 76th minute.
Crystal Palace were then awarded a penalty deep into stoppage-time and Michael Olise converted to ensure it finished as a draw.
City have won just one of their last six Premier League matches and sit 4th in the table, three points behind leaders Liverpool.
