There's now just one more sleep until Christmas but Mauricio Pochettino will want to raise Chelsea supporters' festive spirits early as they travel to Molineux to take on Wolves this afternoon.
In the first Christmas Eve clash in the Premier League since 1995, and the Blues' first since 1966, they'll be hoping to bring the momentum of the penalty shootout win over Newcastle United in midweek with them to find their first win away at Wolves since 2019.
To do that though, they'll need to do it without midfield maestro Enzo Fernandez who was ruled out of this weekend's match by Pochettino earlier this week after suffering a hernia problem against Newcastle. Having been replaced after just half an hour in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Newcastle on Tuesday night and was spotted crying at full-time. Now he's been confirmed to miss the Wolves clash with a hernia problem.
What Pochettino said: «Enzo is going to be out of the game against Wolverhampton. We are going to see if he can be involved again as soon as possible. You already have the information that it was a hernia and he also didn’t feel well.
»We are going to give treatment with the doctor. For me, it is not going to be a problem I think he is going to be as soon as possible again with the group."
Possible return date: Unknown.
