Mauricio Pochettino was handed two Chelsea injury boosts from Saturday's Premier League victory against Luton Town. The Blues were able to secure back-to-back league wins at Kenilworth Road just a few days on from their London derby triumph over Crystal Palace.
Cole Palmer was in scintillating form as he played a part in all three goals with Chelsea enduring a tense final 15 minutes after Luton fought their way back into the game. However Pochettino's side saw out the clash with two injury boosts also arriving heading into 2024.
The Blues do not return to league action until mid-January with an FA Cup fixture against Preston at Stamford Bridge first on the agenda. With that said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Chelsea injury news before that cup tie.
Lavia has been nursing an ankle issue since he arrived at Stamford Bridge and he's managed to make the squad over the last two matches. The Belgian international made his debut against Crystal Palace, coming as a huge boost, but he was absent from the matchday squad to face Luton on Saturday.
What Pochettino said: «We need to assess Mudryk and then Romeo Lavia also. He feels something, some issue. We need to check and hope it’s not [bad]. I'm a little bit worried. I don't know, because if you were watching the game [against Crystal Palace] you cannot appreciate I was changing the position with Lavia at the end because he was struggling to run. We will see what is going on.»
