Mikhail Kennedy rescued a point for Institute against Ards
There was no change at the top of the Playr-Fit Championship as leaders Institute and second-placed Dundela both drew.
Stute were 1-0 down at the break, thanks to a late goal from Ards midfielder Patrick Cafolla, but levelled through Caoimhin Porter only to see Ethan Taggart grab what looked to be an 86th minute winner for the hosts.
Kevin Deery’s men did, however, equalise in stoppage time when Mikhail Kennedy converted a penalty following a handball on the line by Ryan Arthur, who was duly red carded for his troubles.
At Wilgar Park, Zach Barr gave Portadown the lead in the 51st minute only to see Andy Hall equalise for Dundela with a fine free-kick 18 minutes from time.
A last-gasp Howard Beverland backheel saved Bangor’s 10-game unbeaten run at Darragh Park.
Niall McGinley gave Dergview the lead in the 79th minute of an ill-tempered affair only to see the Seasiders equalise in the fifth minute of stoppage time thanks to a cheeky finish from the veteran defender.
Eleventh-placed Dergview are now a huge 14 points clear of basement side Knockbreda, who lost 4-1 to Annagh United at Breda Park.
Nathan Kerr, Paul Finnegan, Jack Evans and Tom Burns scored for the Portadown club, while Marcus Murphy found the net for the hosts, who have registered a total of just four points all season.
With Dixon Park out of use due to the installation of a new 3G pitch, Ballyclare Comrades borrowed Larne’s Inver Park for the afternoon.
It proved a shrewd move as Stephen Small’s side defeated Ballinamallard United 3-1.
James McGrath gave the Mallards the lead, but a Gary Donnelly penalty plus strikes from loanees Brian Healy and Caolan Donnelly gave the Comrades victory.
