I’ve been listening to all this stuff about them having trials for blue cards and sin bins and I’m just banging my head against a wall when I hear stuff like that.
I understand that they’re trying to improve the game and entertainment value but I think the majority of fans plus players past and present are scratching their heads and wondering just who is making these decisions. If you want to change things then you need to discuss it with football people who are involved in the game right now, not the likes of myself or Arsene Wenger who is out and making rules up.

We’re not happy with our referees right now but adding another card is just going to cause even more confusion, delays and unwanted debates. As a former defender I’d say that not every tackle deserves a card.
Premier League football is very fast. You can show incidents back on slow-motion and say ‘well he kicked him’ but he didn’t mean to, he was trying to go for the ball and missed it by a millimetre.
We’re hearing stuff about players being given a ‘cooling off’ period but that’s the game. If there are players who you can wind up, that’s part of your team talk, you’ll have a go at a certain player because you know the pressure can get to him, he might make a mistake or lash out like David Beckham in the World Cup or Wayne Rooney.
