Linfield and Glentoran could be set to lock horns again in the Irish Cup Semi-Finals
Glentoran and Linfield could meet in the Semi-Finals of the Clearer Water Irish Cup after the draw paired the two together on Saturday evening.
The Glens are safely into the last-four after goals from David Fisher and Charlie Lindsay led them to a 2-0 win over Ballyclare Comrades and they would face their bitter Big Two rivals if the Blues can beat Institute in their Quarter-Final on Sunday.
The north west club, of course, will be looking to spoil that potential draw when they face Linfield at the Brandywell (1pm kick-off).
In the other Semi-Final, Larne’s reward for a 4-1 win over Newington on Saturday afternoon is a clash with Cliftonville, who booked their place in the final four with a 2-0 win over Portadown on Friday night.
Premiership leaders Larne progressed thanks to a double from Lee Bonis, Levi Ives’ free-kick and an own goal from Aodhfionn Casey, however their run of not conceding a goal at home in 2024 came to an end when Eamonn Hughes struck from the penalty spot for Newington.
