'That would be great' - Leverkusen ace Jeremie Frimpong breaks silence on Liverpool transfer links
In-form Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has admitted a move to Liverpool would be "great" - as he continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old, who progressed through Manchester City's academy before later moving to Celtic and then the Bundesliga, has played an instrumental role in Leverkusen's quest for a first German title and recently scored in his side's 3-0 thrashing of reigning champions Bayern Munich.
Consequently, Frimpong has been linked with a sensational big-money move back to the Premier League, with both Liverpool and Manchester United reported to be eyeing a move for the Netherlands international. Frimpong himself has refused to rule out the possibility of moving to Liverpool and insisted a switch to Anfield is an exciting prospect.
Asked by Ziggo Sport about the possibility of moving to Anfield, the 23-year-old said: "Liverpool? Great club, with history. That would be great. Who knows what the future will bring."

Should he make a move to Anfield, Frimpong could find himself reunited with the conductor of Leverkusen's remarkable Bundesliga title bid, Xabi Alonso, who is the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp in the managerial hot seat.
