According to 'Marca', Brahim Diaz has opted to play for Morocco rather than the Spanish national team after a few weeks of deliberation. The playmaker is waiting to be called up by Walid Regragui for the friendlies in March.
Meanwhile, the Spain manager was asked for his opinion on Diaz's decision on Monday morning at an event. "I haven't spoken to Brahim, I either call or I don't call. I wish him all the best. Everyone is free to make their own decision," he told reporters.
"There are three options to be called up: that he is eligible, that he wants to play here and that I select him. The most important thing is to want to. Without demands or conditions," he continued.
"I fully and absolutely respect his decision. Everyone is free to take the decisions they have to take," he concluded. Manager Walid Regragui will not be long in calling him up as his team has to face Angola and Mauritania. His squad list will be confirmed this week.
