The first goal scored by the Republic of Ireland at the 2023 Women's World Cup was going to be historic no matter in what fashion it came.
Katie McCabe made it so that no one will ever forget it.
The Irish captain's goal in the 4th minute of the match against Canada not only was the first World Cup goal ever scored by the Irish, but it was a rare Olimpico, coming straight off a corner kick.
McCabe is known for her left-footed ability and made it count against one of the world's best goalkeeper in Canada's Kailen Sheridan.
