Amanda Ilestedt picked up the Player of the Match award for the second game running as she moved to three goals for the tournament.
Just as she had done against South Africa, Ilestedt rose highest to head home the opener against Italy in the 39 th minute.
Sweden scored five minutes later through Barcelona’s Fridolina Rolfo before Stina Blackstenius got her first goal of the World Cup, stabbing home at the far post.
Illestedt added Sweden’s fourth in the second half with another header and was serenaded by her teammates on the bus home following her latest virtuoso display.
Lina Hurtig was an unused substitute for the Blagult against Italy.
Ireland
The Girls in Green may have been knocked out of the World Cup with a game to spare but they did not go down without a fight.
Katie McCabe sent Perth, and Ireland, wild with the opening goal of the game against Canada, scoring an ‘Olimpico’ direct from a corner.
Her celebration, which saw her raise her hands out wide before she was engulfed by her teammates, will go down in Irish history.
