Arsenal could head into possibly their biggest game under Mikel Arteta without three of their key players on Sunday afternoon. The Gunners travel to Manchester City in the Premier League, looking to take a huge step towards becoming champions of England.
Arteta's side are currently one point above City after 28 games and could give themselves a four-point lead with three points on Easter Sunday. However, the north Londoners have struggled in their recent visits to the blue side of Manchester, not winning since 2015.
Many have continued to back the defending champions to win this weekend, but the injury problems at Man City have handed the Gunners some much-needed confidence. Ederson, Kyle Walker and John Stones are all set to miss the clash, meaning Guardiola is without some key figures himself.
However, Arsenal's chances of winning on Sunday rest largely on their star players being at the top of their game. Unfortunately for Arteta, that may be out of his hands.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Arsenal boss provided an update on the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes. Gabriel and Saka withdrew from international duty last week due to knocks while Martinelli hasn't featured since being forced off with a foot injury in the 6-0 win over Sheffield United.
Reports had suggested that the Brazilian attacker could be out for the season, but football.london understands that these are understood to be incorrect.
