Frank Lampard has claimed Everton's transfer activity has «come to roost» after being hit with a second profit and sustainability charge by the Premier League.
The former Chelsea midfielder spent one year in charge of the Toffees and directly dealt with the financial pressure the club was under, which resulted in the high-profile sales of Anthony Gordon and Richarlison to fellow English top-flight sides.
Everton were deducted ten points by the Premier League for falling foul of FFP guidelines and could soon face a second hit to their tally after being charged for a second time earlier this month.
Commenting on whether conversations around the club's financial state were amicable with the Premier League during his Goodison Park reign,Lampard said: «I was never privy to them, I would only get feedback off the back of it. I think they were amicable to the point, but there were clear lines of what you could do at that stage.”
