Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz was overcome with emotion and burst into tears upon receiving the Premier League Player of the Month award.
The Brazilian forward had an impressive run, scoring four goals in March, matching his tally from February. During what he thought was a standard pre-match interview at Craven Cottage, teammates Willian and Andreas Pereira surprised him by presenting the trophy.
The 22-year-old couldn't hold back his emotions as he expressed gratitude to his fellow countrymen. «Congratulations brother, you deserve it,» said former Chelsea ace Willian, before jokingly predicting Muniz's reaction to Fulham 's production crew who captured the touching scene: «I told you he was going to cry».
Muniz made his move to Fulham in 2021 when the London side were battling it out in the Championship. His first season was a struggle, with just five goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, and he was subsequently loaned to Middlesbrough following Fulham's promotion back to the Premier League in 2022.
