Whilst the Ligue 1 title may have already been decided, with Paris Saint-Germain being crowned champions for the third successive season three matchdays from the end, there is still lots to play for with all other 17 teams in France’s top-flight mathematically in the fight for the European places, or for survival.
As was the case for last year’s GFFN Awards, our experts have cast their votes for all fifteen categories – spanning the finest players in each position, to the year’s best coach, the most impressive breakout campaign, and more. These will be weighted 50/50 with votes from you, the public, to determine the winners of this year’s GFFN Awards. The overall results, and the GFFN team of the season, will be revealed before the final game of the season.
The first of 14 categories is dedicated to the best goalkeepers in Ligue 1 this season with Marco Bizot, Marcin Bulka, Lucas Chevalier and Gianluigi Donnarumma all up for the award. In defence, our experts have nominated players such as Bradley Locko, a mainstay in a Brest side chasing UEFA Champions League football, Jean-Clair Todibo, Leny Yoro and Wilfried Singo.
In midfield, Pierre Lees-Melou, Vitinha and Angel Gomes are up for the award. There is an array of choices on the wings, with Kylian Mbappé, in what is likely his final season at PSG, Bradley Barcola, and Edon Zehgrova all featuring in our experts’ picks. You can also vote to decide the winners of the Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Best Signing, the Biggest Flop, the best Frenchman Abroad and the Best Ligue 1 Manager of the Season.
