In 2024 there will be five new ceremonies to be held in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe
Under the name 'Road to Dubai', Globe Soccer, the United Arab Emirates-based organiser of the Gala of the same name which has been held in Dubai for 13 years, has just unveiled its international expansion plan, consisting of five separate ceremonies to be held during 2024 in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The host cities and dates for these new events will be announced in the coming months.
This expansion, in the words of Globe Soccer CEO Tomasso Bendoni, will «provide greater opportunities for those operating in world football and allow us to reach even more fans. This year-long programme has been designed to ensure that the focus is on the Emirate, while allowing us to recognise clubs, players, coaches and managers, agents, directors, scouts and other interested parties from all corners of the world.»
The winners of each of the main awards — Best Player, Best Player, Best Club, Best Coach, Best Agent — in the new Globe Soccer International Series, five separate ceremonies to be held on a different continent, will qualify as finalists for the Globe Soccer Gala organised each year by the Dubai Sports Council in December.
«This new 'Road to Dubai' format allows us to recognise and honour a greater number of stars from various continents. It also gives the winners the opportunity to participate in the main ceremony in Dubai. This development is in line with the growth, evolution, international reputation and influence of the award in world football,» said H.E. Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council.
