I Am Maximus is already being touted to repeat his famous Grand National win today in next year's big event at Aintree.
As the curtain closes on this year's Aintree festival, the Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old and jockey Paul Townend are the talk of the town.
Rated 7-1 joint-favourite ahead of the main event, he was kept in a prime position by Paul Townend before bursting to life in the latter stages. By the time he had passed the finishing post, he was seven-and-a-half lengths clear of runners-up Delta Work and Minella Indo.

And his showing today is the reason why I Am Maximus has been instated as the extremely early ante-post favourite to win the famous steeple chase in back-to-back years. Sky Bet have opened the market for the 2025 Grand National and currently he has leading odds of 16/1.
However, winning this event twice in a row is never a given. Corach Rambler is living proof of this having won last year's race only to unseat jockey Derek Fox at the first fence in today's renewal. Despite this, the popular chaser is 20/1 second-favourite for 2025.
This year's second and third-placed horses, Delta Work and Minella Indo respectively, are both 25/1 in the 2025 ante-post, while the remaining entries that placed on Saturday are also rated highly.
