Pep Guardiola offered a sobering update on the progress of Kevin De Bruyne as he shared that the talismanic midfielder is yet to start training with Manchester Cityas he continues to recover from his hamstring surgery.
Whilst De Bruyne himself shared that recovery was going 'well' at the start of November, Guardiola was unable to share details about when the player could be returning to the side.
Immediate predictions in the wake of the decision for De Bruyne to undergo the surgery suggested that the Belgium international could be out until the New Year.
'I don't know (when he might return).' Guardiola shared ahead of Man City's meeting with Chelsea on Sunday. 'I spoke to him two days ago and he feels really good but he isn't training with us, not running much.
'I think, I don't know, these kind of injuries it's better not to put pressure. When he feels good and the doctors are confident we can take the next step. You don't want to go too early and have to go back again.
'Kevin was a tough injury, surgery, so step by step.'
