The hotel manager who looked after Harry Kane for his first months in Munich has revealed all behind one of his favourite-ever guests.
The England captain spent the first five months of his Bundesliga career staying in temporary accommodation after joining Bayern Munich in a club record £100million move from Tottenham.
Despite being near-flawless on the pitch with a record 21 goals in 15 league games, Kane had a slightly turbulent time off of it with the birth of his fourth child and the search for a new house.
Currently away on a beach holiday during the winter break, Kane will be moving into a beautiful new home with a rather amusing history when he returns to Bavaria.
But before all of that, he made a special effort to thank those who made him feel so welcome in Germany, taking a picture with the staff of Mandarin Oriental, thanking them for helping him ‘settle in so well’.
One of those pictured, hotel manager Dominik Reiner, has now talked about Kane’s stay, and what made him one of their best-ever guests despite an incredible list of global superstars and world leaders.
“He was definitely one of the most popular regular guests we've ever had with us,” Reiner told Suddeutsche Zeitung. “At the end he greeted each colleague with a handshake and their name.
“He was one of the most down-to-earth guests we've ever had. We only did something special for the children when they were there. We set up tipis in the room for them to play in, for example.
“They were also allowed exclusive use of the pool on the roof terrace. But Harry hasn't asked for any extravagant wishes for himself.
