Among the whirlwind of spectacular gigs and unbelievable experiences, there was one moment where it all began to sink in for Jamie Webster.
The Liverpool singer songwriter had barely stopped to think during a mesmeric year of working non-stop on a new album and gigging around the country. After a spectacular debut set on the first evening of On The Waterfront, the musician took some time for himself before heading out again for the second night of the Pier Head music festival as the rain came pouring down onto spectators.
Speaking to the ECHO earlier this week, Jamie said: “I remember sitting in the hotel room on my own. I took an hour to myself before I was getting ready to leave for the second gig. I was sort of sat, looking out onto the Mersey. I realised what went on the night before and it all hit me, it was the first moment of reflection.

“I just welled up a bit, and then I got really excited because it was like, I get to go and do this all over again tonight. And then the second gig because of the weather and there was just an atmosphere of defiance and, you know, resilience to have a good time and it was just brilliant.
“It was like we went to war together. Nights like that, no matter what I do in my career, can never be taken away from me, it'll be forever. It’s a happy, happy time looking back, from the gig at Glastonbury and then within four or five days playing to 24,000 people in my hometown.
