The first game of Inter Miami’s MLS season took place on Wednesday night, and it was no surprise to see Lionel Messi in the thick of things.
After a topsy-turvy pre-season in which the Argentinian was pilloried for not playing in various friendlies, it was back to business in the league with a fixture against Real Salt Lake.

Inter would triumph 2-0, but the moment of the match came when Messi went on one of his mazy runs but was confronted by an injured RSL player.
What did he do? In true Messi style he chipped it over the prone opponent and ran around him to get his shot away.
The outrageous moment of skill drew gasps from the crowd, plaudits from the commentators, and it’s no wonder that it quickly went viral on social media.
