The Blues fell agonizingly short in the EFL Cup final, as a goal by Virgil van Dijk in the 118th minute sunk their chances at a trophy.
Sitting 11th in the Premier League table, Chelsea have little chances of making up enough ground to finish amongst the European places, so a run at domestic cup glory will have to do in Mauricio Pochettino's first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Foxes are in pole position for promotion back to the Premier League as they sit atop the Championship table, but it's been a dogfight the entire way. Leicester are three points clear of second-placed Leeds United and four above Ipswich Town in third, with nine matches remaining in the league season.
Leicester City dumped another Premier League side in Bournemouth out of the FA Cup in the previous round, while advancing past Millwall and Birmingham City before that. They gave Liverpool a good run earlier in the season in the EFL Cup third round, but fell 3-1 thanks to two Reds goals in the final 20 minutes.

For whatever reason, Chelsea seem to have better consistency in the domestic cup tournaments than in league play, as the Blues have reached the semifinals of this competition in five of the last seven seasons, plus their trip to the EFL Cup final earlier this year as well.
