Ange Postecoglou has already made Djed Spence decision as Tanguy Ndombele summer issue looms

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will have plenty of decisions to make about his bloated squad this summer in order to bring in new faces.

The Australian has already said that he wants signings across his Spurs squad in the coming transfer window. However, to do so and comply with various homegrown and foreign player limits in the Premier League and in potential European competition, he will also have to ship out a large number of players, either on loan or permanently.

That is because when all of the loan players return, Postecoglou will have a squad of 37 first team players. Two of those coming back from loan are Djed Spence, if Genoa do not take up their option to sign him, and Tanguy Ndombele, with Galatasaray also holding an option to buy him permanently which seems unlikely.

Some fans hope that Postecoglou might hand Spence another chance but in the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, our Spurs correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discussed how the head coach showed no inclination to use the 23-year-old last summer and when he returned from his loan spell at Leeds, the full-back was sent to train with the U21s.

With Ndombele, the midfielder has made just four starts for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig this season and with a year left on his contract, Spurs could be faced with the scenario of having to agree a deal to release him if they cannot find another final move for the Frenchman.
