Outgoings will be majorly important when it comes to Johan Lange and Ange Postecoglou reshaping the Tottenham squad this summer. Spurs have enjoyed two very good transfer windows under the Australian so far and that is why they are in the Champions League mix with six games of the term remaining.
Postecoglou has loftier ambitions, though, and wants his Tottenham team to be in the Premier League title race come this time next year. While of course all Spurs supporters will be concentrating on the players coming in through the door at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, what the football club do in terms of moving players on is going to be pivotal.
The Lilywhites have made strides recently in regards to their playing squad by allowing players who are not in the head coach's thinking to depart. Eric Dier departed in January and is now thriving at Bayern Munich, with Davinson Sanchez exiting permanently in the summer as part of a much-needed defensive reshuffle and Harry Winks dropping down to the Championship with Leicester City.
As things stand, Tottenham do have a handful of players out on loan who do not appear to have a long-term future under the 58-year-old. The likes of Joe Rodon, Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele fall into that category.
In order to move players on for good, Spurs have included purchase options in their agreements with some of the loan clubs. Deals worth £21.3million are already believed to be on the table and the north London club will find out in the weeks ahead whether that money will be coming their way.
In the case of Rodon, Leeds United do not have an option to buy the Welshman at the end of the campaign and that may now prove to be a shrewd move from Tottenham. The former
