William Gallas has urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham despite fears that his exit could rock the boat in north London. The 30-year-old striker faces an increasingly uncertain future at Spurs with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
Prior to the departure of Fabio Paratici in April, football.london understood that the Lilywhites had been in contact with Kane's entourage to discuss a new deal. But, the Englishman is said to be in no rush to sign an extension while he assesses his options during the summer transfer window.
Despite significant interest from Bayern Munich, Daniel Levy seems determined to hold onto Kane, who will not force an exit. For now, it remains to be seen whether the German giants will spend big on the Spurs captain.
In a fiery interview with Gambling Zone, Gallas encouraged Kane to leave after having done everything in his power to finally get his hands on a trophy with Tottenham – although to little success. The former Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs defender said: «Harry Kane should move on from Tottenham – he should have moved last season.
»He has spent his career hoping that he could lift a trophy with Tottenham. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. Last season was the best time for him to leave the club. I feel like he couldn’t have done any more for Spurs. He has won the Golden Boot for the club on three different occasions. He does his job perfectly."
Kane has been heavily linked with an exit from Tottenham for a while now. Last summer he almost joined Manchester City but, after Levy refused to negotiate with Manchester City, Pep Guardiola signed Erling Haaland instead and proceeded to win the treble.
