Mauricio Pochettino says he has no time for the rumours surrounding his future at Chelsea and insists the pressure of the job is not impacting his mindset.
The Blues secured a 3-1 win away at Crystal Palace on Monday to record consecutive victories for the first time in a month as the club moved back into the top half Premier League table. Chelsea’s poor season has nevertheless left Pochettino’s future at the club in doubt amid the absence of a direct style of play.
The Argentine says he believes he has the backing of Todd Boehly, who has overseen five different managers during his 18 months in London when caretaker appointments are included. There has been a mass turnover of players during the American’s reign and Pochettino has frequently called for time to allow the squad to settle.
Torrid results against Middlesbrough, Liverpool and Wolves since the turn of the year have cranked up the pressure on the manager. But speaking after full-time at Selhurst Park, Pochettino hit back at those questioning his future at Chelsea.
«I don't care about the rumours,» he declared to beIN Sports. «I don't care about the tension. I don't care about the pressure. I don't care about the stresses. We know really well which is our reality and we are going to keep working.»
Cole Palmer has acknowledged the noise surrounding the club but says the players are putting that to one side as Chelsea try to resurrect their season. He has faith in his squad and feels there is a sense of togetherness within the dressing room despite the outside chatter.
