Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Rodrygo (23) has addressed speculation that he could be the player to make way for Kylian Mbappé (25), should the Frenchman arrive in the Spanish capital as expected this summer.
The 23-year-old has 10 goals in 30 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season, as Madrid sit eight points clear of FC Barcelona following a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu last night, thanks to two goals from the Brazilian:
“I don’t know if Mbappé will come yet. I think it is close because everyone is talking about it and I trust the journalists, but I don’t really know what’s going on.
Yes, there are alot of us. We will see what the coach decides next year, I think this will be a problem for the coach… but a good problem. I am calm. I’m not thinking that far ahead, I’m just concentrating on this season and trying to finish the season strongly by winning as many titles as possible”
With Mbappé strongly linked to the Spanish capital and the arrival of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick (17) already officially confirmed, Carlo Ancelotti will be the envy of Europe with his attacking options next season.
French star Mbappé was prickly when asked about his future whilst on international duty with Les Bleus last week, assuring the media present that he would provide an update if and when there is an update to provide.
Should the long-protracted move eventually come to pass, the Frenchman shouldn’t expect Rodrygo to lie down for him.
