Marco Silva saluted the composure his Fulham side showed when taking their penalties in front of the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street end.
Fulham reached the semi-finals of the League Cup for the first time in their history after they overcame Everton on Tuesday night. Silva has now come out on top on all three visits to Goodison since being sacked by the Blues in 2019.
The tie ended in a 1-1 draw at 90 minutes, with substitute Beto equalising for Everton after Michael Keane's first-half own goal gave Fulham the lead. But despite at one point having the chance to win the shootout through Amadou Onana, the Blues were eventually beaten 7-6 on penalties.
"We are all delighted, no doubt about it,” Silva said. “It was clear that our aim was to go through and we knew it was going to be really tough, a proper cup tie.
