Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic believes Ruben Amorim would be the perfect replacement for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.
Klopp announced in January that he would be stepping down as Reds boss at the end of the season. Amorim, the Sporting Lisbon manager, is the current frontrunner to succeed the German at Anfield.
Amorim has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young managers with Sporting, with the Portuguese on the verge of leading his side to a second Liga Portugal title in four years.

In truth, his success at Sporting is made even more impressive by the fact that the 39-year-old spent the majority of his playing career representing their bitter-rivals, Benfica.
Having spent time in their youth academy, he returned to the club in 2008 and went on to make 154 appearances, winning three league titles and six domestic cups, before hanging up his boots in 2017.
And it was at Benfica where Amorim crossed paths with Matic, who joined the Portuguese giants as part of the deal that saw David Luiz move to Chelsea in January 2011. The Serbian would go on to make 99 appearances for Benfica, before returning to Stamford Bridge in January 2014.
A team-mate of Amorim throughout this time, the pair made 16 appearances together for Benfica, and were named in the same matchday squad on 15 further occasions.
