Sean Dyche has detailed a chat he had to get Jack Harrison’s form back on track with the Everton manager believing that the on-loan winger is embracing the work ethic at the club of reaping the benefits from putting in the hard yards.
Harrison joined Everton on a season-long temporary switch from relegated Leeds United on August 14 and after having to wait six weeks to make his debut due to injury, he netted his second goal for the club against former club Manchester City while he also has three assists. Dyche said: “I’m really pleased with what Jack is doing. He had a bit of a quiet spell and I spoke to him about it, I reckon he was over-thinking things but still working very hard.
“Against City I thought he was very good. We’re only monitoring work-load, that’s why he came off, certainly not his performance, he scored a good goal. I think there’s so much good to come from people like him, he’s good around the group as well and rubs off on people. He’s got a natural positivity about him.
“I think he enjoys it here, he enjoys the training and the group he’s with so that’s a good blend. That’s the kind of blend we want, players to come here, to work hard but also have professional enjoyment as I call it.”

The Blues boss added: “Whatever people think, there’s a lot of work goes into football, so much work goes on behind the scenes with sports science and the dietary side of things, analysis, the tactical side of things and it’s professional enjoyment. They’re hard yards but you love those hard yards.
