This is the first year Aldi has released its wooden toys in stores only and not online. One of the first issues with this is that some stores didn't stick to the release day, releasing the toys on Wednesday, October 18 - meaning many items had already sold out by 8am yesterday.
This aside, I did the nursery drop off and headed to my local Aldi store hoping to get my hands on its wooden kitchen, toy safari truck and the aeroplane runway. I got to the store about five minutes before it opened at 8am and straight away I saw people waiting outside.
It wouldn't be fair to call it a big queue but there was around eight people in front of me, but as the doors opened, people spilled out of their cars. It was no surprise that everyone headed for the middle aisle. In the rush to get inside I forgot to get a trolley - which was a big mistake.
