Jamie Carragher was a recent guest on the Gary Neville podcast, ‘Stick to Football’, along with Roy Keane, Ian Wright, and Jill Scott, as they discussed a number of topics.
While discussing Arsenal and their recent North London derby performance, Liverpool great Carragher talked about how Mikel Arteta’s side simply are not title contenders.
Carragher said, “I’ve been there with Liverpool. Arsenal fans will feel like they can’t win the league now because they’ve dropped points in two home games.”
The former defender talked about the juggernaut that is Manchester City and the imposing shadow they cast, and how their formidable nature means any slip-up will cost you your chance in the title race.

The 2005 Champions League winner questioned their drive, motives, and ability to see out games following the start of their campaign, saying: “It’s only the start of the season with the celebrations, or it feels like every game is going to the wire.”
Arsenal fans will remain positive following their start to the season and will be confident ahead of their Premier League fixture with City at the Emirates Stadium on October 8th. This game in London will certainly decide if Arsenal will be challenging for the title or battling it out to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
