Northern Ireland’s Callum Marshall will be tempted by a new deal at West Ham despite not having made his debut yet
West Ham United are planning to open contract talks with Northern Ireland international Callum Marshall ahead of a possible January loan move for the striker.
Marshall’s current deal with the London club runs until the end of next season after he signed professional terms just days after he turned 18 in November 2022.
The fact that the Hammers are keen to tie Marshall down can be viewed as a sign of how highly rated he is at the London Stadium, That alone, however, may not be enough to tempt him to put pen to paper on the deal.
Although Marshall did feature as an unused substitute in a League Cup tie against Lincoln City earlier this season the lack of any further involvement with the first team is believed to be a stumbling block to a contract being agreed.
Colchester United are understood to be interested taking Marshall on loan after he impressed when West Ham’s under-23 team beat them 4-0.
Swindon Town is also possible destination on loan for Marshall has already won three senior international caps.
