Brentford manager Thomas Frank has dismissed rumours that strikerIvan Toney could be sold for as low as £30 million in the summer transfer window amid interest from the likes of both Arsenal and Chelsea.
The pair of London rivals have been named as potential suitors for the England international for well over a year now, with the Gunners thought to have been closest to discussing a move with Frank's side in the summer. Any intentions were up-ended when the star was hit with an eight-month ban from football due to breaching the FA's gambling regulations.
The 28-year-old was then heavily linked with a move away in the January transfer window as he returned from his ban but nothing came of the transfer whispers, leaving him to mark his return to the GTech Community Stadium with a goal against Nottingham Forest in a 3-2 win before scoring in three of his next four matches.
He's failed to find the back of the net since mid-February but interest still remains across Europe for the striker, although football.london understands that Arsenal will be in the market for a different profile of striker, while Chelsea prefer Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
However, both clubs could have their heads turned at the potential of an improved price, with the England international entering into the final year of his contract. It was reported earlier this week that the star's price tag was somewhere in the range of £30-40m, a far reach from what Frank had claimed was a £100m tag earlier on in the season.
