Turner’s eagerness to impress got the better of him in the early stages as he bundled Yahaya to the canvas twice in the opening minute, but he wasn’t forced to wait long for a knockdown as he put the Tanzanian down with a barrage of hooks.

Yahaya failed to beat the count, and the contest was stopped, sending the home crowd into raptures. Speaking in his post-fight interview, Turner labelled the fight as one of the best nights of his life, while trainer McNally sang the young fighter’s praises, claiming he was destined for the very top.
Turner said: “It is one of the best nights of my life, if not the best night. That is just how I fight. If I hit you and I hurt you, and I think I can get you out of there, I am going to put pressure on you.
