Northern Ireland's Jordan Jones
Oxford United defender Ciaron Brown and Wigan Athletic winger Jordan Jones have been recalled to the Northern Ireland squad for the final two Euro 2024 qualifiers, while West Ham United striker Callum Marshall retains his place in the squad.
Michael O’Neill’s side are due to face Finland in Helsinki on 17 November before taking on Denmark at Windsor Park on Monday 20 November.
The Northern Ireland boss has named a 26-strong panel which shows just two changes from the squad chosen for last month’s Euro qualifiers against San Marino and Slovenia. While Brown and Jones rejoin the squad, Preston North End midfielder Ali McCann misses out through injury.
Unsurprisingly, there’s no place in the squad for long-term absentees Steven Davis, Stuart Dallas or Corry Evans.
The Group H qualifier against Finland is being staged in Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium on Friday 17 November (5pm start UK time), while the match against the Danes at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park the following Monday (20 November) will have a 7.45pm start.
While Northern Ireland’s dream of reaching Euro 2024 is already over, both Finland and Denmark can qualify for next year’s tournament in Germany.
