Conor McMenamin believes Northern Ireland players will use the “special feeling” arising from the stunning 2-0 victory over Denmark as fuel to fire themselves up for future success.
Leading by a strike from Isaac Price, McMenamin came off the bench in the second half at Windsor Park to create another cracking team goal for Dion Charles to end a disappointing Euro 2024 qualifying campaign on a high.
McMenamin’s assist, racing on to a pass from George Saville and showing speed and skill to beat his man before delivering the perfect ball to the Bolton striker, was a snapshot of the quality the St Mirren star can produce.
Many Northern Ireland fans feel his qualities ought to have been used more by manager Michael O’Neill.
