Jaidon Anthony reveals heartfelt message following his mum's death but is booked

Leeds forward Jaidon Anthony paid tribute to his late mother Donna by revealing a special message on his shirt after scoring in Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup draw against Plymouth, but was booked for his celebration.

The 24-year-old gave the hosts the lead at Elland Road with a 31st-minute strike and took of his shirt to pay tribute to his mum following her death.

Anthony was back in the starting line-up for the first time since his mother's passing last week as the two sides played out a draw that ensures they will meet in a fourth round replay.

His undershirt revealed a message that read 'rest in perfect peace mum' as Anthony was joined by his Leeds team-mates who pulled at the t-shirt as they supported their colleague.

Supporters inside Elland Road rose to pay their respects while Anthony emotionally celebrated in a touching moment during the FA Cup encounter.

However, as per regulations regarding players taking off their shirts, match referee Lewis Smith brandished a yellow card once Anthony had stopped celebrating.

The booking comes just days after Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke was also booked for displaying a similar shirt honouring Anthony's mother's passing.

Solanke scored for the Cherries in their FA Cup win over Swansea and revealed a top stating: 'RIP Donna'.

Anthony is currently on-loan at Leeds from Bournemouth and has scored two goals in all competitions this season.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke hailed Anthony's performance against Plymouth and explained the goal meant so much to the young forward.
