Jamie Carragher explains why Kai Havertz didn't celebrate Arsenal goal vs Bournemouth

Jamie Carragher insists Kai Havertz's importance to Arsenal was highlighted in the second half of Saturday's 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

The Gunners returned to the top of the table as goals from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice downed the Cherries in a convincing display at the Emirates Stadium.

However, when Trossard alleviated the pressure on his side by firing an all-important second goal midway through the second half, Havertz was left unable to celebrate with his team-mate after a lung-busting run from deep to orchestrate the move.

And that the German forward was left on his haunches at the end of the move underlines his growing importance to Mikel Arteta's side, according to ex-Liverpool defender Carragher.

«I just want to highlight the reaction. Look at the reaction of all the players,» said Carragher on Monday Night Football. «Everyone is celebrating. It is brilliant, look at all those players. They know the second goal is the relief.

»Look at all those Arsenal players but look at Havertz, he's shattered. He's not celebrating, he's absolutely knackered because he is doing that much work for the team.
