Kai Havertz has said he would not want to bring any former Chelsea team-mates to the Emirates Stadium. The German international has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta unlocking his potential after an initially slow start.
The Gunners forward has chipped in with 12 goals six assists in the Premier League, helping his side keep them in the hunt for a first top flight title in two decades. He previously spent three years at Chelsea but never really hit the heights expected of him, despite scoring the winner in the 2021 Champions League final.
In an interview with Chinese streaming service iQIYI, Havertz was asked if he would like to bring any of his former Chelsea team-mates to Arsenal but insisted he would not make any changes to the current squad. He said: «I don't even know, I think we have everyone here. I'm happy with the squad.»
Havertz was then asked if former Blues loanee Joao Felix would be a good fit at the Emirates Stadium. He replied: «He's an amazing player, a quality player for sure. But yeah, I have to say that I'm happy with the squad.»
The Germany international is thriving at Arsenal following his summer switch from Chelsea and he's proving to be a vital cog in Arteta's side. Havertz has earned plaudits for his recent performances, with the Gunners boss showering him with praise after a resounding win against Bournemouth.
Arteta said: «He was unbelievable today, honestly. Everything that he did, intelligent, timing, the movements, how he keeps the ball, the way he goes to the press, how he links the play, understanding of the game.»
