For La Liga President Javier Tebas, Kylian Mbappé’s (25) move to Real Madrid is almost assured. The Spaniard has told L’Équipe that he believes there is a 99% possibility of the Frenchman joining Los Blancos this summer.
Mbappé ended speculation surrounding his PSG future, informing president Nasser Al-Khelaifi – and his teammates – that he would be departing the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season. This decision was initially made public last summer in a letter that ultimately saw Mbappé ostracised from the first-team set-up at the Parc des Princes. Whilst he was ultimately re-integrated, PSG could not convince him to reverse his decision to leave on a free.

Informing Al-Khelaifi of his impending departure was a pre-requisite for signing an agreement with another club. Whilst it has not been confirmed that Real Madrid is the France captain’s destination, Tebas is more than confident that Mbappé will be plying his trade at the Bernabeu next season.
“Knowing that he is leaving PSG, there is a 99% chance that Mbappé signs at Real Madrid, but I don’t know if it’s already signed. Of course [it’s good news for Real Madrid]. It’s big news for Real Madrid and Spanish football. He is one of the best players in the world. In my opinion, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland and Mbappé are the three best players on the planet and two of them are at Real Madrid,” he told L’Équipe.
Tebas added that he sees Mbappé’s arrival as a positive for La Liga: “Signings of big players are accelerators, but they aren’t indispensable. It is of course to have big names, to have managers like Pep Guardiola and José Mourinho is useful
