Jeremy Doku adds to Man City injury problems ahead of Liverpool FC
Jeremy Doku was not in the Manchester City squad to face FC Copenhagen after picking up a minor injury at the weekend.
Doku started the Manchester derby but was brought off in the second half for Julian Alvarez and has not trained with the group since. The Belgian's discomfort was enough for Pep Guardiola to leave him out out their Champions League last-16 game on Wednesday and he faces a battle to be fit for the trip to Liverpool on Sunday; Jack Grealish is also likely to be ruled out with the groin injury he broke down with again last week in the FA Cup at Luton.
"He had some muscular problems so we did not want to take the risk," said Guardiola ahead of kick off against Copenhagen. City had to manage Doku carefully when he suffered a hamstring injury in December, the winger missing eight straight games before returning to action off the bench in the FA Cup win over Huddersfield. If Doku is ruled out of the Liverpool game, Julian Alvarez or Oscar Bobb could come into the team.

Both were selected in the starting lineup against FC Copenhagen as Guardiola shuffled his team with Liverpool in mind. Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Bernardo Silva were among the players left on the bench with others given the opportunity to start and confirm City's place in the quarter-finals. Josko Gvardiol made his first start since returning from an injury that has kept him out of the team for seven matches.
