Former Chelsea star William Gallas has criticised current Blues defender Benoit Badiashile following his performance against Burnley with the former Chelsea man saying that Badiashile seems 'scared of the ball'.
Chelsea paid £32.7million to Monaco for the defender in January 2023. His season has been hit with injury but, when fit, he has emerged as one of the first picks in defence for Mauricio Pochettino.
The Blues' disappointing season continued on Saturday when they were held to a draw by relegation-threatened Burnley, despite the Clarets being reduced to 10 men for the whole of the second half. Badiashile played the full 90 minutes of the game after returning from a groin injury.
Speaking to Gambling Zone, Gallas has delivered a brutal verdict on Chelsea's defenders this season. He specifically picked out Badiashile for criticism.
«The defenders have to be stronger, and that is a problem for me, they are not good enough. Some of them are not good enough to play for Chelsea. It is a problem to change the players in defence every week,» he said
