Joe McGrail was left critical of himself after producing what he described as a 'terrible' performance against Ryan Walker.
McGrail, the younger brother of Peter McGrail, was returning to the ring for the first time since his stoppage victory over Jules Phillips back in February. And although referee Steve Gray scored the contest 77-75 in favour of McGrail after eight rounds of boxing, the 21-year-old was left less than impressed with his performance.
He said: “I feel like it was an awful performance by my standards. I am better than that and I feel like I made a lot of mistakes in there.

“Big respect to Ryan Walker, but I feel like I am levels and levels above him and I should be dealing with him pretty easily.
“I made it hard in there and I am not happy with it. But it is a win at the end of the day and it is onwards and upwards.
“I just wasn’t letting my hands go. My coach was telling me in the corner to let my hands go, but I wasn’t doing that, and my feet felt slow. I just felt sluggish in there.
“I want to get back out as soon as possible, but it is probably going to be the summer, but I am just waiting on a phone call for the next one.”
Elsewhere, on the undercard of Peter McGrail’s points win over Marc Leach, Frankie Stringer produced his best performance to date to overcome Jonatas Rodrigo Gomes de Oliveira.
Stringer, who is a former Tri Nations gold medalist and national champion, was fighting for the first time since September and won every round of the six-round contest.
