The Blues are, admittedly, in strange place when it comes to midfielders. Enzo Fernandez has been out with an injury, Lesley Ugochukwu and Romeo Lavia currently are, while Conor Gallagher is the best performing player in that position and cost over £100million less than his two teammates.
However, none of this quite excuses the week two rumour of Jordan Henderson returning not just to England but actually coming to Chelsea. It is said that the former Liverpool man is really pushing to end his time in Saudi Arabia early after just six months. Chelsea, meanwhile, are said to be one of the clubs being offered his service.
