Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is among the highest-paid gaffers in Africa and that is said to be worrisome for the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs who have not handed him a new contract.
Peseiro's contract expired at the end of June, but the Portuguese is still in charge of the three-time African champions as the NFF chiefs are yet to make their final decision about his future.
The 63-year-old was hired as coach of Nigeria after the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cuplosing the playoffs against Ghana.
Peseiro recently qualified the Super Eagles for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast with one game left in the qualifications.
