The new Real Madrid player gave his first impressions after an intense week of work in Valdebebas.
Jude Bellingham spoke to Real Madrid’s media at the end of his last session in the first week of preseason about his first week in the Spanish capital. “I’ve walked around a bit, but I don’t want to go out either. After training I’m tired and I don’t want to go out for dinner every day to be in good shape. Although when I have the opportunity I would like to go for a walk around the city. I think it’s important to get to know a new culture and soak in it. I would like to enjoy life as well as training.”
Bellingham was surprised by the working methods of Carlo Ancelotti and the Madrid staff during his first few days with the club. The Englishman particularly liked Antonio Pintus, Madrid’s fitness coach. “Pintus loves to kill us. I guess that’s his job. But yes, I love him. He’s a great guy.”
“My new teammates? They’re brilliant. They’re great lads. I just like being around them. Regardless of what they’ve won, they have their feet on the ground. There’s a great atmosphere in the dressing room. I think I’ve integrated quite well. I’m very happy with everything so far. I’m loving it. It’s a joy. I really enjoy being out here with the lads, learning from the staff. The truth is that I’m really looking forward to all the team-mates getting together to meet the whole team and then putting on the white jersey and going out to play.”
He also spoke about the players with whom he has been most in tune in these first few days: “Lucas Vázquez and Brahim are probably my best teachers in Spanish. They all help me learn the language.
